Southampton Casinos

Southampton is one of the major cities on the South Coast, so one may expect more than its current offering of just two casinos. However, this will eventually change with the announcement made in March 2016 that the Aspers casino chain has been given a license to open a large casino on Southampton’s redeveloped Royal Pier Waterfront, which is due to open in 2021. With plans to have 30 Blackjack and Poker tables as well as 150 slots, Aspers were successful despite another strong bids from Khymeira, Grosvenor and GGV.

The new casino will be in good company, as the two casinos that Southampton already has are both excellent. The Genting Casino Southampton is situated in the Ocean Village area, whilst the Grosvenor Casino Southampton is situated further to the West at the popular LeisureWorld retail centre. As you would expect, both of these chain casinos offer an excellent casino experience that includes an excellent restaurant, as well as a stylish and sophisticated bar.

At both casinos you can play the usual range of popular table games, including Blackjack and Roulette, all of which are run by experienced and friendly staff. However, the major difference between the two casinos is Poker. Poker lovers will find that the Genting Casino doesn’t have a card room, so they are better suited to the Grosvenor Casino Southampton where cash games and tournaments are played on a daily basis from 7pm.
